• Microneedling

  Pricing: $150/session Microneedling creates microscopic openings on the surface of the skin. It causes the tissue to develop new collagen and elastin, resulting in smoother, firmer skin. The treatment is completely non-surgical, you are numbed for this procedure and it requires little downtime. What is Microneedling? Microneedling is a rejuvenating skin treatment that addresses: · Wrinkles and fine lines · Hyperpigmentation · Sun damage · Mild inelasticity · Acne scars · Large pores · Rough skin · Dull skin You may hear microneedling referred to as percutaneous collagen induction because the treatment increases collagen in your skin. Collagen is the supportive scaffolding of youthful, smooth skin. It naturally declines with age. By inducing the creation of collagen (as well as elastin), microneedling leads to smoother, firmer skin that glows. The Microneedling Process Modern treatments use an automated pen-like device. It’s handheld. The head of the device contains a circular arrangement of tiny needles. The device is set to penetrate the skin at a certain depth, making the treatment highly customizable. You will be numbed with a topical agent prior to this procedure. As the provider passes the head of rotating needles across the skin, the needles make tiny openings in the epidermis. These minuscule punctures prompt a healing response in the skin without damaging tissue. This response is what stimulates collagen and elastin production. Opening the skin’s pores for nourishing topicals: Another benefit of microneedling is that the skin is essentially opened up via the tiny channels made, and can thereby better absorb any variety of rejuvenating topical ointments, creams, and other skin products chosen by you and the provider. How Long Does it Take to Heal from Microneedling? Microneedling is minimally invasive, but your face will be flushed and red for about 24-72 hours after the appointment. During this time, don’t apply facial cosmetics. We know it is tempting to conceal the redness, but microneedling opens up the pores of your face, so the last thing you want to do is clog all those channels into the epidermis with makeup. You may however use a tinted spf the following day. For 24-48 hours, it is normal to experience minimal peeling, dryness, swelling, and bumps. Follow our directions for which moisturizers and cleansers to use during this time. Luminosity Aesthetics will recommend a 5-day recovery kit that will maximize your results. Your skin will start looking radiant and fresh after a few days, and results will continue to improve over the next couple of months as new collagen and elastin form. The treatment course will depend on desired results. It is typically recommended 3-4 treatment sessions, each 4-6 weeks apart, and then a maintenance treatment of one session every 6 months to keep your collagen and elastin production active. The first layer of your skin contains dirt dead skin cells, oil, and villus hairs (also known as peach fuzz). Dermaplaning is used as a skincare treatment to effectively exfoliate this top layer of your skin by gently shaving it off at a 45-degree angle with the dermaplaning device. Misconception clarification: Your peach fuzz will not grow back more coarse or thicker. That process is controlled by your internal hormones. Females- we are safe! Who can Dermaplane? Most people are dermaplane candidates. Those who cannot and should not use this treatment are people who have active acne, active facial eczema, sensitive skin, or rashes. • LATISSE®

  Pricing: $180/5ml bottle LATISSE® eyelash enhancer is the first and only U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved cosmetic treatment for increasing the length, thickness and darkness of eyelashes. Available only through prescription, it is applied once a day to the base of the upper eyelashes. Results may be apparent within four weeks; full results take sixteen weeks. Exactly why LATISSE liquid solution causes eyelashes to grow is unknown. However, its active ingredient, bimatoprost, seems to increase the number of hairs in, and the duration of, a hair follicle's growth period. The result is longer and fuller lashes. Once LATISSE treatment is discontinued, its benefits gradually end. Application of LATISSE Solution LATISSE solution is applied at night. Contact lenses and makeup are removed, and skincare products applied, before using the LATISSE solution. To prevent contamination, the LATISSE solution is applied with a single-use disposable applicator. The applicator, which is coated with one drop of solution, is applied to the base of the upper eyelid, at the lash line. The applicator is moved from the inside of the lash line to the outside. Excess solution is blotted to prevent its spreading to other areas. A separate applicator is used for each eye. Contact lenses can be put back in 15 minutes after LATISSE treatment. Candidates for LATISSE Treatment Anyone who wants longer, fuller and darker eyelashes may be a candidate for LATISSE treatment. Those who have eye infections, or broken or irritated skin on their eyelids, or who use products for elevated intraocular pressure, should not undergo LATISSE treatment. A full medical history is taken prior to the start of LATISSE treatment. Side Effects of LATISSE Treatment The common side effects of LATISSE treatment end when treatment ends. Side effects include the following: Eye itchiness Eye redness Skin-darkening Eyelid redness Eye irritation Eye dryness There is one potential serious side effect of treatment. According to the manufacturer's website, LATISSE treatment "may cause increased brown iris pigmentation of the colored part of the eye which is likely to be permanent," although its occurrence is "very infrequent." • Spider Veins

  Pricing: $150/vial. Only 2 vials allowed per session Spider veins (telangiectasias) are small, thin blood vessels visible beneath the skin. They usually develop on the face or legs and may look like a series of thin tree branches or strands of a spider web. Although most spider veins are only a cosmetic issue, for some people they can cause uncomfortable symptoms such as aching, burning, swelling, and leg cramping. Spider veins are extremely common, affecting nearly half of the adult population of the United States. Many patients are bothered when spider veins develop on prominent areas such as the legs or face and seek treatment to eliminate them. Many spider-vein treatments are highly effective and minimally invasive, offering aesthetically pleasing results without painful or lengthy downtime. Causes of and Risk Factors for Spider Veins Spider veins develop from a backflow of blood in the veins. This condition, which results from damaged valves in the veins, is called "venous reflux." As blood collects in these veins, their walls distend. This increases the size of the veins and makes them visible under the surface of the skin. Risk factors for developing spider veins include the following: Increasing age Hormonal changes Pregnancy Obesity Lack of exercise Sun exposure Having a family history of spider veins is also a risk factor for developing them. Diagnosis and Treatment of Spider Veins Spider veins, which are diagnosed through a physical examination of the patient, an analysis of symptoms, and sometimes, diagnostic ultrasound, can be treated in a number of ways, all of which are minimally invasive. Compression Stockings The simplest solution for treating spider veins is for the patient to wear compression stockings, which put pressure on the affected veins and promote blood flow back to the heart. This method is designed to control the symptoms of spider veins, not remove them. Sclerotherapy Sclerotherapy involves injecting a sclerosant, a solution designed to collapse them, into the veins. This procedure is performed in a doctor's office. Each treatment takes approximately one hour, and a typical patient requires two to four treatments. Endovenous Laser Treatment Endovenous laser treatment (EVLT), which is also called "laser ablation," consists of inserting a catheter with a laser probe attached to it directly into the vein. The laser heat seals off the damaged vein, and diverts blood flow to healthier vessels. The above treatments have fewer side effects, cause less pain, and have shorter recovery times than traditional surgical-vein-removal procedures. Prevention of Spider Veins Although there is no sure way to prevent spider veins, making certain lifestyle changes may reduce the risk of developing them. Lifestyle changes include losing weight, exercising regularly, and wearing support stockings and comfortable, flat shoes. It is also important to move the legs frequently, especially during long periods of sitting or standing in one place. Pricing: $150/vial. Only 2 vials per session. • BOTOX® Cosmetic

  A neuromodulator (AKA neurotoxin, toxin, tox) is a purified botulinum injectable drug that relaxes and softens the skin by restricting facial muscles from contracting. The effects of this can be reduced or erased wrinkles. decreased oil production and facial contouring to provide a younger refreshed appearance. Most of our fine lines are created from repetitive facial expressions. These neuromodulators inhibit those deep facial expressions thus allowing the wrinkles to fade (older population) or not be created (younger population/preventative). The "frozen" look of the past is gone. BOTOX Cosmetic BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription drug that, when injected, temporarily paralyzes muscles. It contains a purified and safe form of botulinum toxin A, which is produced by the microbe that causes botulism. Manufactured by Allergan, Inc., it is used to treat permanent furrows and deep wrinkles in the skin that are formed by the continual contraction of facial muscles. Properly placed injections of BOTOX Cosmetic block nerve impulses sent to muscles, weakening them to the point where they cannot contract, and temporarily eliminating moderately severe furrows and lines. Receiving the injections requires no anesthetic, but some doctors choose to numb the area to be injected with ice packs or a topical anesthetic cream. • Restylane®

  Pricing: $500/syringe U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved Restylane® injectable dermal filler is a cosmetic "filler" that contains hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance that is found in the body. HA gives volume and elasticity to the skin, but as the body ages, HA levels decrease, resulting in loose skin and wrinkling. When injected, Restylane filler is designed to plump the skin beneath lines and wrinkles, smoothing them out and making them less noticeable. The most common areas for Restylane treatment are the lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds (which run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth), and chin. Restylane injectables are FDA-approved, for those 18 years and older. According to manufacturer Medicis, results can last for up to 11 months, at which point the hyaluronic acid is reabsorbed by the body. Benefits of Restylane Injectables When injected, Restylane replaces or restores volume, making skin appear younger and look smoother. When used for lip enhancement, it makes the lips fuller and gives them more definition. Advantages of Restylane Injectables One significant advantage that Restylane injectables have over other facial fillers made with hyaluronic acid is that it contains nothing of animal origin. As a result, it does not require a potential user to undergo allergy testing, which can sometimes take weeks. Another advantage is that Restylane injectables are performed in less than an hour, and require little-to-no downtime for the patient. Side Effects of Restylane Injectables The most common side effects of Restylane injectables are swelling, redness, pain, bruising and tenderness in and around the injection sites. They typically go away within a week. Although considered safe for most patients, Restylane injections carry a risk of infection, bleeding or allergic reaction. This filler has a reversible agent.   Pricing: $500/syringe JUVÉDERM® XC injectable gel is a U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved dermal filler that, according to its manufacturer, Allergan, Inc., is designed to "temporarily treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds" in people older than 18. Unlike the original JUVÉDERM injectable gel, JUVÉDERM XC is infused with lidocaine to make its injection more comfortable. JUVÉDERM XC is a smooth-consistency gel that restores volume to the skin, and smooths away moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds. It is made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a sugar that occurs naturally in the body. In terms of the skin, HA's role is to deliver nutrients and hydration, and act as a cushioning agent. Young, healthy skin contains a lot of HA, but factors that include aging and sun exposure reduce the amount, causing skin to lose structure and volume. JUVÉDERM XC is most effective in improving the appearance of nasolabial folds, the lines that run from the bottom of the nose to the corner of the mouth on both sides of the face. JUVÉDERM XC Injectable Gel Procedure JUVÉDERM XC injections take about 15 minutes to administer at Luminosity Aesthetics. A fine needle is used for the injection, which is given under the skin in the targeted area to add volume or fill in wrinkles and folds. Because JUVÉDERM XC contains lidocaine to improve comfort, an anesthetic may not be needed. However, a doctor may still elect to use a topical anesthetic on the area to be treated before giving the injection. Afterword, your injector may gently massage the treated area(s). Once treatment is completed, patients can return, with virtually no downtime, to their regular activities. For the first 24 hours after treatment, to reduce the risk of complications, patients should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and alcohol consumption. Results of JUVÉDERM XC Injectable Gel The results of JUVÉDERM XC are visible immediately after injection; any swelling and bruising, to which ice can be applied, should subside during the next few days. • Xeomin®

  Xeomin is a neuromodulator composed of botulinum toxin type A, a naturally occurring protein that is produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. Xeomin is injected into the affected muscles in order to reduce their activity. Xeomin does not stop the muscle from moving entirely; instead, it modifies the contractions. This is achieved by inhibiting a body chemical called acetylcholine from signaling all of the nerves within the muscle. When expertly injected for frown lines or “11’s”, Xeomin temporarily prevents your nerves from telling your muscles to flex or contract. This process smooths the appearance of “dynamic” frown lines. Xemin was developed by Merz. Xeomin only contains the 150kD neurotoxin without complexing proteins. It is considered the "pure" neurotoxin according to Merz. Chemical Peel Procedure During a peel, the skin is cleansed and the solution is applied, which may cause a brief stinging sensation. Multiple layers of the peel are applied with allotted time to dry.
